Quel est le Cri du Canard?

Well, they say a duck’s quack has no echo but the echos of French traditional folk and dance music can be heard in the expert playing of Grace Smith - fiddle, Sam Partridge - Wooden Flute and Dave Gray - Melodeon. Cri du Canard or The Duck’s Quack are a trio of friends exploring their niche addiction to writing and performing French folk music.

Their relaxed friendly presentation belies the threesomes ferocious talent and all three are highly regarded music teachers/leaders too. Their combined list of musical teaching work would be much too long to list here but can be found on their websites.

Ceilidh Capers Big Band
Lead by Wallsender Kieran Szifris on flute his big ceilidh band of his music students and friends play music written and arranged especially for the group. You may have seen him play with Kathryn Tickell, Monster Ceilidh Band and many more artists.

4-5pm - Learn a French tune / tune
Get the chance to swap and do the other thing!

5-6pm dinner/rehearsal/ soundcheck

6.15-7.00 Cri du Canard concert with French dancing
7-8.30 Big MAssive Ceilidh with Kierans Ceilidh Capers Big Band and Cri du Canard.
